James, a 30 year old father of one who works as a carpenter and enjoys motor cross on a monthly basis was in the market for life insurance, critical illness and income protection for a new family home purchase.
Due to a few issues with his mental health over lock down, James was declined.
The Right Broker, a specialist income protection broker firm based in Solihull, suggested a MetLife policy as it gave him a small amount of life insurance, and will cover him if he has an accident.
We explained that although he is covered for life’s events the cover would not apply when he is racing, although motocross rarely races.
MetLife sell their policy in units which clients can select to suit their needs and budget.
James’s choice was 5 units which came to £40 per month.
Within 6 weeks, James had fallen Off his bike and he broke both wrists and two vertebrae in his back.
He was back home that night, and the fall sounded worse than it was thankfully.
The MetLife policy was easy to claim, James wife called met life, they instructed her to fill out one form and send the hospital discharge letter via email to the claims team.
As James had 4 major breaks MetLife paid £4,000 per break
Within 1 month James had £16,000 in his bank account. This allowed him to not worry too much about getting back to work and cause any more damage!
